How this list was made
Every artist credited on 4 or more KaraFun songs was checked by hand (about 5,000 names), plus duets where a listed artist appears. Bands are listed when their lead singer or frontman has died. For bands with more than one lead singer, the year shown is the most recent death, and a note says who is still alive. Rows marked "shared lead" (such as The Beatles and Eagles) still have a living lead singer. Bands that lost only an instrumentalist are not listed, and neither are one-off artists with just a few songs. Recent deaths are included up to mid-2026, and a few names I wasn't sure about were left out, so check anything important. Song counts include duets and covers credited to the artist.
